USB Device Authorisation

Just install a new USB Device like a new USB Card Reader or a new USB EPP, run ATMdesk Software for Field Service once on this machine and verify proper functionality, and the new USB Device will automatically be authorised for further use under NCR Windows and Aptra.



How to boot Aptra on NCR 66xx SelfServ ATMs after changing certain USB Devices?

After changing certain USB Devices you will find the new device listed as “Not Authorised (CE Required)” in Aptra’s System Application (“Device Status List” Menu). This is sometimes known as "Parts Validation" and prevents using new device by Aptra until authorised.

Simply boot ATMdesk/Field once, quickly test the new device, then boot Aptra again and you will find no complains about this new USB Device anymore.

How to verify this in your lab:

  • Take a good working NCR 66xx SelfServ ATM
  • Boot Aptra to make sure there are no error messages in Aptra System Application (“Device Status List”) Menu
  • Change one USB Device (e.g. UEPP)
  • Boot Aptra again, which should show the new USB Device now as “Not Authorised (CE Required)” in “Device Status List” Menu
  • Boot ATMdesk/Field and test the new device once
  • Boot Aptra again and you will find will no complains about this new USB Device in “Device Status List” Menu

How to sync Aptra and USB Dispenser on NCR 66xx SelfServ ATMs?

After changing USB Dispenser or Controller Board or replacing / reimaging HDD or reinstalling Aptra you will find the USB Dispenser listed as “Not Authenticated (CE Required)” in Aptra’s System Application (“Device Status List” Menu).

Simply boot ATMdesk/Field once, quickly test the USB Dispenser, then boot Aptra again and you will find no complains about this USB Dispenser anymore.
